PEATPlus

The NHS PEAT process is designed to ensure the quality expected in our hospitals is maintained and any shortfall identified and promptly acted on.

Drax's development of the PEATplus system assists in making the process more effective and representative. It also ensures improved efficiency in the delivery of service, while promoting patient and visitor satisfaction. PEATplus is one of Drax's range of innovative survey products.

The system provides the means of collecting information from a wide range of people, processing the data, and reporting critical and non critical information to those people responsible for managing and delivering the service.

The system is designed to involve all users of trust premises, which typically will include, the internal and eternal inspector, members of staff, visitors and of course the patients.

One software module is designed to operate in-conjunction with portable devices such as Pocket and Tablet PC’s. It gives the external and internal inspectors the facility to input PEAT data as they assess the site. The system will automatically transfer this data to the PEATplus server thus creating an active PEAT data base. Data is only required to be collected once and easy to use templates are provided with drop down lists and active help.

A PEATplus browser module which is fully windows compatible has also been developed. This allows patients to directly participate in the PEAT process via their Patient Power entertainment terminal, without the need of a member of staff or outside body taking up valuable time. Patients will have the opportunity of selecting from simple easy to use menus screens, which categories to comment on, using smiley face technology. The trust and patients benefit from this as they are be able to ensure the key aspects, felt important for hygiene and cleanliness, food and quality, are properly monitored and controlled.
