Alarm to IT Network Connectivity Has Arrived! Until now, distributing alarm information around large or complex sites has necessitated the costly and time consuming installation of bespoke network cabling. But that situation is about to change with the introduction of TCP/IP nodes from Drax. When installed as part of an AMX1 Alarm Management system, the TCP/IP Network Manager allows AMX1 to utilise TCP/IP protocol to communicate over an existing Ethernet network. This is particularly useful to create a dual communications path or where no other cable exists, the primary route, subject to standards compliance. Unlike the Point-to-Point RS232 connection the TCP/IP Network Manager can directly communicate with multiple TCP/IP nodes. In fact, 255 nodes can easily be accommodated. Alarm source On/Off signals, connected to an input of the TCP/IP node, can generate alarms elsewhere as well as being recorded to the AMX-1 History. AMX-1 can also send ON/OFF controls to any TCP/IP node output, allowing control of equipment connected to any TCP/IP node. A comprehensive datasheet is now available ……..ask for your copy now.
